Musical Oratory of Advent

Our annual Musical Oratory of Advent, a reflection on the scriptures prophesying the Incarnation with choral music, is tomorrow evening, December 13! Be sure to join us. The service begins at 7:00 p.m. Find this short clip of the choir rehearsal last.

Fr. Mario Avilés named a Bishop by the Holy Father!

Fr. Mario, the Procurator General of the Confederation of the Oratory, was named the auxiliary bishop of Brownsville today by the Holy Father. He will be consecrated bishop on February 22. Fr. Mario was essential to the establishment of the Oratory, having been our delegate and friend since the beginning of the project in 2008. Congratulations to Bishop-Elect Mario and please pray for him!

Forty Hours Update!

Forty Hours at Old St. Mary’s begins in a few hours. Solemn Mass (Latin Ordinary Form) will be at 7:00 p.m. tonight, October 26. Adoration will continue until Benediction at 10:00 p.m. Adoration will resume tomorrow morning at 8:00 a.m. and continue until Benediction at 10:00 p.m. on Saturday night. Adoration resumes again at 1:30 p..m. on Sunday. Solemn Vespers will be at 3:30 p.m. and the closing Procession will be at 4:15 p.m. A social will follow.

Please join us and spent an hour in prayer with the Lord. Please use the side door if the back doors are locked.

Forty Hours at Old St. Mary’s

Forty Hours at Old St. Mary’s Church begins this coming Thursday, October 26, with Solemn Mass at 7:00 p.m. (Ordinary Form Latin). Adoration will continue until 10:00 p.m. We will resume Adoration following the 7:15 a.m. Mass on Friday until Saturday at 10:00 p.m. The final leg of Adoration begins on Sunday at 1:30 p.m. until Solemn Vespers at 3:30 p.m. and our closing rites at 4:15 p.m. Please join us!
