Please be advised of the impending winter storm, which may bring up to a foot of snow or potentially more. Some key points to note:
If the sheriff declares a Level 1 Snow Emergency, Masses and the schedule will proceed as usual. Please exercise caution.
If the sheriff declares a Level 2 Snow Emergency, Masses will proceed as usual, but all will be recited without music. Sunday Vespers will not be held.
If the sheriff declares a Level 3 Snow Emergency, Masses will be held as usual at Old St. Mary’s, but all will be recited. Due to the Level 3 Snow Emergency, the roads will be closed, so there will be no Mass at Sacred Heart.
If you are unable to attend Mass due to inclement weather, please consider your obligation dispensed by the pastor. Please be sure to read the liturgical texts for the day, recite the Rosary, and/or say extra prayers. Sunday Vespers will also be canceled during a Level 3 Snow Emergency.
The most severe weather is expected during Mass times, between 8:00 a.m. and 12:00 noon. If you manage to attend Mass, please be aware that the journey home may be more challenging. Exercise caution and be prepared for potentially hazardous conditions on parking lots, sidewalks, and steps, as clearing these areas may be difficult during the heaviest snowfall.
Please watch closely here for any updates as things can change.
