It has been an exciting few days, with the Canonization of St. John Henry Newman, founder of the first English speaking Oratory in the world. The Cincinnati Oratory will kick off several days in celebration of the canonization. We start tomorrow, October 16, with our annual banquet. Although we are sold out of the event, please keep this in your prayers. We welcome Bishop Athanasius Schneider as our special guest speaker this year. The following day, October 17, Bishop Schneider will offer a Pontifical Mass of St. John Henry Newman. The Mass is at Old St. Mary’s Church and begins at 5:30 p.m. On Friday, October 18, after the 7:15 a.m. Mass & 12:10 p.m. Masses at Old St. Mary’s, and the 9:00 a.m. Mass at Sacred Heart, a blessing with a First Class relics of St. John Henry Newman will be offered. On Saturday, October 19, we will join with the Holy Name Society of St. Antoninus parish to host our annual Eucharistic Procession from the Cathedral to Old St. Mary’s. The procession will begin at 9:00 a.m. at the Cathedral and conclude around 11:00 a.m. at Old St. Mary’s. When we arrive, Fr. Jon-Paul will preach a sermon at Old St. Mary’s on Newman’s idea of Christian manhood. The Archbishop will celebrate Mass at 8:00 a.m. at the Cathedral. Join us for this celebration in honor of our new Oratorian saint!
